Our camping facilities comprise of grassed lawns and hard stand sites, ideal for motor homes, caravans and tents. Most sites have power and access to water with additional club facilities nearby. These facilities include a newly refurbished club house kitchen with all the mod-cons, a clean and modern hot shower block, laundry and toilet block. We do not have a dump station for motor home waste, however public dump stations are fairly close by.
Club house accommodation comprises of four bedrooms. The club house has a TV, games area, lounge with wood burner and a large kitchen with modern heating and cooking facilities (upgraded December 2018).
At night, glowworms can be found at certain times of the year along the driveway creek overhangs and brush.
To enquire about accommodation availability, please fill out our website contact form. This is required no matter if you are a returning visitor or if this is your first visit. Your enquiry is automatically directed to our accommodation officers and club hosts, one of whom will contact you about availability. Please do not email enquiries to the club secretary or other committee members as they do not have the accommodation spread sheet and therefore may not respond to your request timeously.
Once you make an actual booking, we do require that you complete our Club Booking Form. This simply tells us a little more about you and outlines the club’s rules, do’s and dont’s. This form stems from the nature of our club (social nudity) and our desire to uphold its safe and family friendly environment.
A copy of the Club Booking Form can be viewed and downloaded here. You are most welcome to complete this prior to your arrival and simply hand it to our club hosts when you get here.
A note about our tariff structure: Nelson Sun Club is not a commercial camp. Its members pay a nominal annual fee and run the club and maintain its facilities as volunteers, without remuneration.
Consequently Nelson Sun Club members enjoy significantly reduced tariffs for clubhouse and campsite accommodation.
Members of reciprocating New Zealand Sun Clubs and international travellers with INF membership enjoy day visitor and accommodation tariffs in line with other, similar NZ Sun Clubs. Please note guests pay either the day visitor or the accommodation tariff (not both).
All other visitors are most welcome to join us and experience our naturist lifestyle as day visitors or overnight accommodation. However this experience is charged at a higher tariff to ensure our members are not subsidising their stay. Please note guests pay either the day visitor or the accommodation tariff (not both).
We simply encourage all visitors to enjoy what’s on offer and consider becoming members of Nelson Sun Club (enjoy maximum benefit for minimal cost). Membership enquiries: NSC Secretary
Due to our location among pine forestry blocks, undulating rural hills and valleys, mobile phone signal is generally weak. Unfortunately this means no WiFi. We have members and visitors who count that as a blessing! However, for those who must stay connected, we do have a commercial signal booster device hardwired in the club house. It amplifies and improves signal delivery to mobile phones within the immediate vicinity.
For those with mobile phones on pre-paid / top-up / pay-as-you-go or limited data, we recommend you consider a top up to your credit or data cap limits prior to your arrival.
